About UPSC

Uttar Pradesh Soccer Association (UPSA) in Varanasi has partnered with India Khelo Football (IKF) as its Regional Execution Partner (REP), working to democratise access to professional football opportunities in the region. This collaboration bridges the gap for local talent by creating a structured pathway from grassroots participation to national-level exposure through IKF’s scouting ecosystem. Also known as Upcoming Players Soccer Academy, UPSA was established in 2016 with the mission to nurture young football talent, particularly from grassroots and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. The academy focuses on identifying promising players and providing structured technical, physical, and tactical training to prepare them for higher competitive levels. Through dedicated coaching programs and its partnership with IKF, UPSA continues to strengthen football development and expand opportunities for aspiring players across the region.

Activities with IKF

During the Varanasi city trials, conducted in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Soccer Association (UPSA), India Khelo Football (IKF) witnessed an impressive turnout of 213 players — a strong participation number for a developing football city like Varanasi. Following the evaluation process, 36 players progressed to the Zonal level, reflecting not only high enthusiasm but also the presence of quality grassroots talent in the region. The results reinforced IKF’s belief that promising footballers can emerge from every city when given the right platform and opportunity.
