Project IKF Naari Shakti

The Sixth Dimension of Indian Football

By the girls  |  For the girls  |  Of the girls

Redefining access to football for girls across India.

Girls deserve more than opportunity. They deserve safe systems, trusted environments, and real pathways.

Project IKF Naari Shakti

Overview

In five years, India Khelo Football (IKF) has scaled from 17 to 135+ cities and 2,000 to 20,000+ players.

Yet one gap remains clear: Girls' participation has not grown proportionately.

Not due to lack of talent — but due to lack of safe, trusted, and structured systems.

Project IKF Naari Shakti is IKF's response.

This is not a campaign. It is a national structural intervention.

What is Project IKF Naari Shakti?

A girls-exclusive platform built to ensure:

Access Without Hesitation

Open doors for girls at every level, ensuring no talent is held back by barriers.

Participation Without Fear

Safe, women-led environments where girls feel confident to step forward and compete.

Opportunities Beyond Playing

Pathways into coaching, officiating, and leadership roles for girls in football.

Built for girls, so girls can truly participate.

What Girls Told Us

The impact of the initiative extends far beyond football.

Based on participant feedback collected across locations:

98.3% of participants said the female-led environment made them feel comfortable and safe.
97.2% reported increased confidence after participating.
95.8% reported greater confidence among parents and families toward football participation.
96.4% said they would recommend the initiative to other girls.

These findings demonstrate that when safe and supportive environments are created, participation naturally follows.
